SUMMARY: The Edge Computing Specialist is responsible for managing and executing the lifecycle for all edge computing devices. Edge computing devices are defined, but not limited to, the following: Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Handheld Devices, and Printers. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with IT team members and partners to define image configurations for edge devices. Manages working relationships with edge computing hardware and software partners. Manages overall lifecycles for in scope devices. Keeps accurate records and documentation for edge computing devices. Ensures compliance with company technical and quality standards/procedures. Performs troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common computer software and hardware problems. Resolves technical problems on new and existing systems including install and upgrades. Escalates problems and/or issues as appropriate. Ability to travel to remote sites Required to perform after hours and weekend installs as scheduled. May be required to be "on call".
EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree in Computer or Engineering related studies
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong technical background required Strong customer service skills Requires a valid driver license. Hands on experience working with PCs, Printers and Tablets Working knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of computer equipment Ability to set up and configure PCs and related hardware. Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking Effective communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The capability to be on-call 7 by 24; Ability to work weekends The capability to lift and install electronic equipment up to 50 lbs.
The capability to work in manufacturing plant conditions.
Pay: $21-$23.50/hour
