MRI Tech Location: Geneva, NY Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,626 per week Shift Information: 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Tech Specialty: ACUTE: TECH: Allied MRI Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Option 1) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM every other Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Option 2) Two 12-hour shifts. Hours per Shift: 8-12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years experience in related radiology fields, with MRI experience preferred. License: NYS License required. Certifications: Certification as a radiologic, nuclear medicine, or ultrasound technologist with formal MRI-specific training preferred. BLS through AHA or RQI required. Must-Have: Completion of an AMA-approved 2-year Radiology Technology program and previous experience in diagnostic radiology. Description: The MRI Technologist performs technical MRI assignments. They exercise complex skill, judgement, and knowledge of the principles and methods of Magnetic Resonance Imaging. They perform diagnostic MRI studies as requested. Infection control is performed according to Universal Precautions. The MRI Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Essential Job Functions: Operates MRI equipment, coils, and related equipment accurately. Evaluates image quality and demonstrates accuracy in MRI positioning and coil selection based on procedure guidelines. Demonstrates competency in RIS, entering and editing patient demographics and charges. Records appropriate data as needed. Demonstrates competency with PACS for image processing, image review, proper protocol selection, and troubleshooting. Ensures proper magnet safety is adhered to for self, patients, and other personnel using proper screening techniques. Follows prescribed techniques in administering MRI and contrast media. Recognizes emergency situations regarding reactions to contrast media and takes appropriate action. Behavior Characteristics: Maintains mandatory continuing education credits of 12 per year in Radiologic Technology. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
