Job Description:

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to provide high-quality mental health services to inmates at federal correctional institutions. This role is pivotal in promoting psychological well-being, offering assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders, and contributing to our ongoing mission to operate secure and humane facilities. The successful candidate will address a range of mental health issues influenced by or resulting from the unique pressures of the correctional environment, working alongside a committed team to foster a safe rehabilitative space. Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of inmates to determine mental health status and needs. Formulate treatment plans and conduct therapy sessions, including individual, group, and crisis intervention sessions. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate care. Implement behavioral management plans and provide psychoeducation to inmates and staff. Monitor and document inmate progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review cases and refine treatment plans. Provide expert testimony and psychological reports as required for legal proceedings and parole boards. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to ensure the highest standard of care. Expertise in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience in crisis intervention Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and writing reports Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Current and valid state license as a Clinical Psychologist Board certification in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is preferred but not required Completion of APA-accredited internship
