Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Position: Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) Shift: Night 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Contract Length: 13 Weeks Facility: Rochester General Hospital – Rochester, NY Scheduling & Unit Details Weekend: Every other weekend Holidays: Every other holiday as needed Charting: EPIC (required) RTO: Must be submitted at time of submission Call-off Policy: Up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract Ratios: 1:2 (Impella 1:2; occasional 1:1 based on acuity) Floating: Required within skillset Scrubs: Navy blue and white First-time travelers accepted Local RNs within 75 miles not accepted Licensure & Certifications Active NY State RN license required (NY is not compact) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Pending licenses not accepted Required Clinical Skills Arterial/central/PICC line management Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation Cardiac & vasoactive drip titration, IV sedation/paralytics CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz CRRT/CVVHD, ECMO, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKG Chest tubes, wound vacs, infection prevention/PPE Unit Overview 16-bed CVICU caring for high-acuity cardiac and multi-organ failure patients Cases include ECMO, CRRT, sepsis, ARDS, post-cardiac arrest, heart failure, and advanced cardiac devices 24/7 provider coverage with a collaborative multidisciplinary team Hospital Highlights: Rochester General Hospital is a 528-bed Magnet-recognized teaching hospital, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering advanced cardiac and surgical services.
