Pay Information $2,290 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Care - Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating shifts including early morning, day, and occasional on-call responsibilities Hours per Shift: 9 hours per day, 4 days per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in an Endoscopy environment License: Active New York State Registered Nurse Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Experience in Endoscopy as a Registered Nurse Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. He/She provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Endoscopy RN develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted with specific medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with various medical conditions. The RN is responsible for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization. This includes lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. The nurse assesses patient and family needs through active listening and social perceptiveness. He/She analyzes data obtained through observations, assessments, technology, or healthcare team communication. The RN creates an individualized plan of care that is developmentally and age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and addresses the identified health problems. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, the RN sets goals and monitors patient progress. He/She adjusts the plan based on patient response or changes in conditions. The RN promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. He/She encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The RN teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks consistent with individual education, training, and scope of practice. He/She understands the personal responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. The RN motivates patients and families by teaching them necessary information for continued care and healing at home. He/She assesses learning styles and structures sessions for maximum understanding. The RN documents the education provided and the patient/family response. The nurse systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses results from quality improvement activities to initiate changes in practice. Engagement in self-evaluation helps identify strengths and areas for professional development. The RN is accountable for enhancing knowledge and skills. Nursing practice reflects the importance of making meaningful connections with patients and families. The RN strives to develop a helping, trusting, and caring relationship through active engagement and anticipation of patient and family needs. Engagement in creating a healing environment is a key element of professional nursing practice. The RN demonstrates skill in medication administration and related interventions.
