Pay Information $2,110 per week About The Position Job Title: Med/Surg RN Full Time Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Acute Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Full time 3x12s Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: One (1) Year experience serving in Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse License: NYS RN Licensure Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Required Must-Have: Minimum one (1) year experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring. The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The RN applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care by assessing patient and family needs through active listening and social perceptiveness. The RN creates a developmentally and age-appropriate, culturally relevant, individualized plan of care to address the nature and scope of identified health problems. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, the RN sets goals and monitors the patient’s progress. The RN adjusts the plan based on patient response or changes in condition. The RN promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses quality improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing practice. The RN engages in self-evaluation of practice, identifies strengths, areas of professional development, and takes accountability to enhance knowledge and skills. The RN uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
