Job Description Job Description Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description The Controls Engineer plays a critical role in leading portions of design and commissioning work, troubleshooting complex automation issues, and contributing to project success through technical expertise and collaboration. This position supports the mission of strong teamwork, open communication, and consistent delivery to customers. Responsibilities Lead portions of automation system design, integration, and commissioning. Develop, modify, and test PLC logic. Contribute to HMI development for operator usability and system clarity. Support project scheduling and team alignment both in-house and on-site. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Serve as a professional representative with customers. Essential Skills Proficiency in PLC programming. Experience with HMI programming. Knowledge of VFD/Servo/Drive controllers. Ability to troubleshoot automation systems. Capability to support design and commissioning activities. Ford project experience, programming either to GVOSS or FAST templates. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project). Customer-facing skills Exposure to Legacy PLC5 Background in automotive controls. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
